What is Suplasyn?

Suplasyn is a highly purified form of hyaluronic acid, specifically produced for use in viscosupplemenation therapy. This injection is injected into the synovial cavity of a knee joint and extensive studies have shown that hyalauronic acid is effective in relieving the symptoms of osteoarthritis with few side effects.
Directions:
Depending upon joint size, up to 2 mL of this injection
may be administered intra-articularly. The recommended schedule
is 3 weekly injections, but up to 6 may be given in chronic
Osteoarthritis conditions. Using aseptic technique, inject
up to 2 mL intra-articularly into the affected joint. More
than one knee joint may be treated at the same time. Suplasyn
is injected directly into the knee, where it may help restore
the cushioning properties of your knee joint fluid. These
injection syringes can provide up to six months of relief
from knee pain. Suplasyn is given as an injection. Injection

Caution:
When this injection is used as indicated, there are no known contraindications to the use of sodium hyaluronate. Precautions: Do not administer this injection to patients with known hypersensitivity reactions. Transient, short duration pain or swelling may occur following intra-articular injections of sodium hyaluronate. Adverse Reactions: :Sodium hyaluronate is the salt of a natural component of many of the tissues of the body. Suplasyn is extremely well tolerated when injected into the intra-articular space. Reports of minor inflammation have been reported when using but are generally considered to be due to the method of administration. Each batch is tested in to confirm its essential noninflammatory properties.
